Look how pretty! All those wonderful looking book covers! All the new and exciting books on hold for me at the library. Hoarder Elizabeth and I were just talking about how out of control we are right now with our library holds, especially when we have books galore waiting on our own shelves! What is the matter with us?
And as the way it usually works for us (and seemingly for all of the library-using universe) those holds tend to pour in all at once. ;-)
Two or three of these books are the fault of Simon Savidge (Savidge Reads)! I’ve been watching his Booktube videos and he showed Call of the Curlew and The Castle Cross the Magnet Carter on separate episodes and they sounded like something I needed to read! Castle Cross is an epic doorstopper at 800 pages but it looks So Good! (Let’s hope it doesn’t come in while I’m trying to read Kate Mosse’s The Burning Chambers (My current read). ;-)
Here’s the links to the books currently on hold for me:
The Castle Cross the Magnet Carter, Kia Corthron
The Air You Breathe, Frances De Pontes Peebles
Call of the Curlew, Elizabeth Brooks
Women of the Dunes (this is “In Transit” right now!) Sarah Maine
Melmoth, Sarah Perry
The King’s Witch, Tracy Borman
The Winter Soldier, Daniel Mason
Unsheltered, Barbara Kingsolver
Bitter Orange, Claire Fuller
Love is Blind, William Boyd
The Lost Letters of William Woolf, Helen Cullen
A Ladder to the Sky, John Boyne
There are a few other books I’ve asked the library to bring in but I think I’ll wait until they come in and not put them on hold. There’s 12 of them already on hold, I think I need to wait to read these (and the ones on my own shelves) first. (haha! It’s only 3 that I said, oh no, I can’t put those on hold too! Look at that self-control!)
Swan Song by Kelleigh Greenberg-Jephcott
The Temptation of Gracie by Santa Montefiore
The Cowkeeper’s Wish by Tracy Kasaboski & Kristen Den Hartog
Do you put books on hold for you at your library? Which ones are you wanting to read?
