Of course anyone who truly loves books buys more of them than he or she can hope to read in one fleeting lifetime. A good book, resting unopened in its slot on a shelf, full of majestic potentiality, is the most comforting sort of intellectual wallpaper. David Quammen
What a wonderful quote, and thank you to Katy@afewmorepages for posting this.
This quote sums up The Literary Hoarders beautifully. It is absolutely one of the reasons for starting this blog and now….. (many!) thanks to readers like you, we can gratefully announce we’ve been nominated for a 2012 Canadian Weblog Award!
If you gaze to your right you’ll see the snazzy new button that can be proudly displayed. Stay tuned as we continue to improve our blog, and of course read and review our mountain of books while awaiting for the results!
The Literary Hoarders are also on Pinterest and we’ve been noticing a certain picture of Bookshelf Wallpaper is being pinned all around lately. What? Shelves filled with books, but only as a wallpaper?! We have enough books to line our walls with the real live thing! We wouldn’t possibly dream of displaying “fake” books!
This is wallpaper…it’s almost too blasphemous to post! :-)
